The Suður-Þingeyjarsýsla is a district in northern Iceland .

With an area of ​​11,134 km², it is the largest district in Iceland in terms of area. It extends in the west to the Eyjafjörður , in the south into the highlands and the Vatnajökull . To the east the district extends to the Jökulsá á Fjöllum . The Suður-Þingeyjarsýsla is in the constituency of Norðausturkjördæmi .
