Guadalinex is an Ubuntu- based Linux distribution that is supported and used by the government of Andalusia ( Spain ). Guadalinex is specially tailored to the needs of Spaniards living in Andalusia and is therefore only sold in Spanish.
It is used in:
- Schools (on over 300,000 computers and 180,000 netbooks)
- Public libraries
- Retirement homes
- Guadalinfo Centers
More than 500,000 copies have been delivered so far.
The current stable release is version 8.0, which was released on March 13, 2012 and is also available as a 64-bit system. While earlier versions were based on a Debian system, Guadalinex has been based on Ubuntu since version 3.0, which was released in June 2006 .

The choice of mascot for each version is carried out through a survey. All animals represented in the survey are in the different provinces of Andalusia.
