Juniors
Villalba was part of Paraguay's squad at the 2017 Pan-American Championships for U-17 women. After a loss to Venezuela and a victory over Colombia, another loss to eventual winners Argentina and a victory over Uruguay followed. The last group game against Brazil was only lost in the shootout. Nevertheless, Paraguay qualified for the semi-finals against Argentina, which this time was only lost in the shootout. So Paraguay had to go to the small final. Here Villalba and her team won the bronze medal. She was also named the best defensive player in the tournament. With this success, the team was able to qualify for the first-ever Junior World Championships 2017 in Flic-en-Flac on Mauritius. There the team lost all three preliminary round matches against the top teams Argentina, Hungary and Croatia without them and then only took part in the qualifying round. Here Australia and Mauritius were defeated. In the other placement games, American Samoa was first defeated, then lost to Colombia and Croatia. In the end, Paraguay placed eleventh of 14 places. But since Argentina hosted the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games and Brazil had canceled participation in the Junior World Cup, Paraguay still fought for one of the two starting places for South America alongside Colombia.

The importance of the youth games for Paraguay is clear from the fact that the athletes were welcomed to visit the president and the government before the games. Beach handball was Olympic for the first time in Buenos Aires . Villalba was not only the captain of her team, but also one of the particularly noticeable players on her team in defense. Paraguay played a pretty good tournament overall. After a weak start to the tournament against the Netherlands, where Paraguay scored two points in the second set, as well as a clear defeat against the hosts from Argentina, in which Villalba played inconspicuously as well as in the opening game and remained without goals or assists, the team of increase there. In the third game, against Hong Kong, there was a clear two-set win. Villalba managed three ball conquests and a block, very decent values for a beach handball defensive player. It was followed by a 2-1 victory over Turkey. In the game's shootout, she scored two of her only four points over the course of the tournament. She also managed to get two blocks again, but also caused a penalty. With the final 2-1 victory over Venezuela, Paraguay qualified for the main round. Villalba was the first player in the shootout to score her two other tournament goals and, as in the previous shootout, was one of the goalkeepers in this particular section of the game. The first main round match against Hungary was clearly lost. In the loss to Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), she caused two opposing penalty throws and received her only time penalty in the course of the tournament. They also lost against Croatia in two hard-fought sets. In the end, the Paraguay team was level on points with Chinese Taipei, bottom of points in the main round table, but was behind due to the lost direct comparison. Both teams missed the semi-finals and played in a direct duel for fifth place. This time Paraguay clearly won the game and dominated especially in the first set. Villalba once again showed the full range of a defensive player. In addition to an assist, two ball conquests and a blocked throw, she also caused another penalty.
Women
At the age of only 17, Villalba was called up for the Pan American Championships in March 2018, as were her later colleagues in Buenos Aires, Sofía Ugarriza and Alma Brítez . In the preliminary round, the teams from Trinidad and Tobago (2-0) and Mexico (2-0) were beaten, against Uruguay there was a 1-2 defeat. In the quarterfinals, the United States was beaten 2-1. In the semifinals, the world class team of Brazil proved to be too strong (0-2). In the bronze medal match, Paraguay met Mexico again and won again, this time with 2-1. The team had thus qualified for the World Championships in Kazan .
In Russia Paraguay first won the opening game against Australia with 2-0 sets, with both rounds being won by only one point. This was followed by a very clear defeat against Spain and a very even game against eventual world champions Greece , which was only lost in the shootout. The team qualified for the main round as third in the group. All three games that followed went into the shootout. First there was a victory against Poland . This was followed by a loss to Uruguay and a hard-fought win against Taiwan . Fourth of six teams, Paraguay was able to qualify for the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals they met the reigning vice world champion and three-time world champion Brazil, against whom there was a clear defeat. The other two placement games against Poland and Russia were also lost. Villalba was eighth with Paraguay in the final.
