Festival del Takuare'ê

Every year at the end of October, the city hosts an international dance and song competition that extends over four days. In addition to the candidates, invited artists also appear. It was founded in 1977 by a group of young bohemians from Guarambaré to create a space for the art of the country to develop. Takuare'ê means "sweet pipe" in Guaraní.

Vito de dinero

On September 8th, the day of the city's patron saint, a special event takes place at 12 noon on the church square - the Vito de dinero . During this ritual, a rain of money made of banknotes falls from the church tower onto the assembled crowd, especially children who crowd in front of the church window. The older women dress in folk costumes and dance to the music of a band, while others distribute Chipa to those present. This tradition originated over 100 years ago to give thanks to the Virgin Mary.
