The Guerreros FC is a Mexican football club from Hermosillo , the capital of the state of Sonora . It was founded in June 2009 and is one of the 17 founding members of the newly formed Liga de Ascenso , which replaced the previous Primera División 'A' since the 2009/10 season as the new second division in Mexican club football .
In the opening season of the Liga de Ascenso , the Guerreros set several negative records. With just nine goals in their 16 home games, they were the only team that could not achieve a double-digit number of hits on their own pitch. Away they were the only team without a win (with 4 draws and 12 defeats). In the annual table as a whole, they came last with just 20 points and had six points less than the penultimate UdeG . Nevertheless, they were spared relegation to the third division because the Liga de Ascenso was increased to 18 teams in the 2010/11 season . However, the club withdrew from the Liga de Ascenso during the winter break of the same season.
