Guglielmo Morandi
Guglielmo Morandi (born July 30, 1913 in Rome , † August 15, 1999 there ) was an Italian director .
Life
Morandi began his directorial career in 1938 at the theater with Lope de Vegas Fuenteovejuna , but after visiting the Centro Sperimentale Radiofonico he was also employed in the radio, for which he worked for around thirty years. In 1956 he made his debut as a television director with Il sogno dello zio . Numerous important works followed by 1971, including the series Vivere insieme and Marianna Sirca , L'ultimo dei Baskerville and, as an older work, Don Giovanni in Sicilia in 1977 . Two series of the Giallo Club were also created under his direction.
Morandi is considered to be one of the pioneers and style-forming representatives of television productions, although he did not commit to any genre. He directed both classics as well as crime films and comedies. In 1967 he made his only movie, the gold robbery based on a historical criminal case in London . Between 1947 and 1957 Morandi also wrote theater and film reviews for the periodical Momenta Sera .
