Guido Baccelli
Guido Baccelli (born June 25, 1830 in Rome , † January 10, 1916 there ) was an Italian physician and politician.
Guido Baccelli was one of the most famous doctors in Italy. He taught as a professor at La Sapienza University in Rome. With several interruptions he was Minister of Education ( Ministro della Pubblica Istruzione ) of Italy between 1879 and 1900, and Minister of Agriculture from 1901 to 1903. He promoted many scientific and cultural endeavors, such as major excavation projects in Rome, and in 1898 introduced the festival of the tree in Italy.
