Guido Dieckmann

Guido Dieckmann (* 1969 in Heidelberg ) is a German writer who mainly writes historical novels .

Life

Dieckmann studied history and English in Mannheim and Jerusalem . After graduating, he worked first as a translator, then as an economic historian in the archive of an insurance company. He made his debut as a writer in 2000 with the historical novel Die Poetin , followed by numerous other works in this genre. With Luther , the novel based on the successful movie, he made it onto the Spiegel bestseller list in 2003. He also wrote the book for the film Albert Schweitzer - A Life for Africa .

He lives with his family in Haßloch in Rhineland-Palatinate .
