Guilhermina dos Santos de Araújo , fighting name Bimali , is a Portuguese - East Timorese independence activist.

Guilhermina dos Santos comes from Portugal. Like her husband, the Timorese Abílio Araújo , she studied economics. Both lived in the Casa dos Timores , a meeting place for left-wing extremists East Timorese and supporters of independence in Portuguese Timor . In September 1974 the couple returned to Abílio's homeland, where the two became important members of FRETILIN . Abílio was given the responsibility for the pilot project No. 1 in Aissirimou , with which political groundwork should be done among the population. Guilhermina worked with Maria Isabel Barreto, the wife of the Chefe de Suco . In December 1974 Guilhermina returned to Portugal. Her husband followed at the beginning of January 1975. So they escaped the Indonesian invasion on December 7, 1975. Abílio became head of the FRETILIN delegation abroad, which also included Guilhermina. She remained a member of the central committee of FRETILIN. In 1993, however, there was a break with FRETILIN.
