Guilt Machine
Guilt Machine is a music project by the Dutch musician Arjen Lucassen .
Emergence
At the end of February 2009, Arjen announced on his website that he was planning another musical side project - besides Ambeon and Star One . At the beginning of March, he asked his fans to submit snippets of speech in their own native language and in the form of short audio messages that deal with strong feelings such as anger or fear. These samples can be heard on the album at the beginning of each track.
Arjen announced in May that the album "On This Perfect Day" would be released on Mascot Records . The publication in Germany , Austria and Switzerland took place on August 28, 2009, in the rest of Europe on August 31 and in the USA on September 29. Wolfram Ehrhardt from Babyblauen Seiten compared the album with Porcupine Tree - whose former drummer plays for Guilt Machine - and attributes the background to the development of the project to health and personal problems of Lucassen.
style
Arjen Lucassen describes the style of his project as “dark and heavy to atmospheric and melancholy”. Guilt Machine, like most of Arjen's other projects, has nothing to do with science fiction or fantasy , but refers to guilt , remorse and the "darkest forms of secrets - the secrets we hide from ourselves".
