Arjen Lucassen

Arjen Anthony Lucassen (* 3. April 1960 in Hilversum , Netherlands ) is a rock - musicians and - Composer . He has been involved in over 40 albums so far , works on several of his own projects and was a member of the Vengeance band . In his solo projects he works as a composer, guitarist, bassist, keyboard player and producer and hires a wide variety of musicians for guest appearances.

Childhood and youth

Arjen Lucassen, who is over 2 meters tall, was born in Hilversum, but grew up in The Hague . After discovering the music of The Sweet , he started playing the guitar at the age of 15. During his high school years he was in a band , which The Flying Potatoes ( The Flying potatoes ) called and cover versions of The Sweet and Slade played. Later he was still a guitarist in various short-lived bands and made many new musical experiences. However, due to his fixation on music, his school performance deteriorated to such an extent that he was expelled from school and placed in an institution for the difficult to educate. There he graduated.

Solo releases

In 1993 he released his first solo album Pools Of Sorrow, Waves Of Joy , under the name Anthony , which was only followed by a second under his own name in 2012 with Lost In The New Real .

Bodine was the first professional band in which Lucassen was a full-time guitarist.
