Ostura is a Lebanese metal band from Keserwan, founded in 2009 .

history

Ostura was founded in 2009 in Keserwan and, after several changes in the line-up, consists of the two singers Youmna Jreissati and Elia Monsef, guitarist Alain Ibrahim, keyboardist Danny Bou-Maroun and drummer Alexander Abi Chaker.

In the fall of 2012, the band self-published their debut album Ashes of the Reborn . In January 2018, Ostura was signed by Universal Music MENA , which is responsible for the regions of the Middle East and North Africa .

This was followed by the release of the second album, The Room , on which the musicians had been working since 2015 and the production of which the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra was involved. The album was released on February 23, 2018.

style

The music of Ostura is described as progressive metal , whereby the band falls back on the characteristics typical of the genre. A mixture of power and speed metal , as well as film music and industrial metal are attested. Even symphonic elements can be heard in the music, so that comparisons of groups like Nightwish , Stratovarius , Rhapsody , Avantasia , Kamelot and Symphony X can be made.
