Gunnar Benediktsson

Gunnar Benediktsson (born October 9, 1892 in Viðborð , Hornafjörður ; † 1981 ) was an Icelandic writer and socialist politician .

Life

The farmer's son studied theology and was a pastor from 1920 to 1931, later a teacher. He was a leading member of the Communist Party of Iceland and the United People's Party - Socialist Party .

In his literary work, which consists of novels and the drama Að elska og lifa , he criticizes capitalism . He also wrote essays and historical considerations.
