Gunnar Rydberg

Gunnar Rydberg (born August 9, 1900 - November 30, 1985 ) was a Swedish football player .

career

Rydberg played 245 games for IFK Göteborg in the Allsvenskan between 1921 and 1936 . The striker scored 147 goals. In the 1934/35 season he was with the blue and white Swedish champions . Previously, the club from the Gamla Ullevi stadium had made it to runner-up three times in 1925, 1927 and 1930.

The attacking player, who mostly played as a half-forward, also played eleven times for the Swedish national team , scoring four goals. He made his debut in the "three-crown team" on August 31, 1924 in the international match in Berlin against Germany. The debutant contributed a goal to the 4-1 success of the guests from the north against the DFB team led by Otto Harder , Hans Lang and Walter Risse . His international career lasted until 1933.
