Gunter Mayr

Gunter Mayr (born January 25, 1972 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian lawyer, university professor at the University of Vienna , section head in the Federal Ministry of Finance and head of the tax reform commission .

Life

Mayr was born in Innsbruck as the son of an architect and graduated from the BRG Wörgl, which he graduated with a high school diploma in 1990. He studied law and business administration at the University of Innsbruck and was assistant to Werner Doralt in the financial law department from 1998 to 2003 . During this time two dissertations followed: "The accused as evidence in financial criminal proceedings" in 1997 and "Realization of profits: questions of the tax balance sheet" in 2001 and finally in 2003 the habilitation at the law faculty in the subject of financial law.

In 2003 Mayr moved to the tax law and tax policy department of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Vienna, was appointed deputy in 2006 and in 2006 was entrusted with the management of the income and corporate tax department. On January 1, 2012, Mayr was appointed Head of Section VI by BM Maria Fekter .

Mayr has been teaching financial law at the University of Vienna since 2009. His main research interests are:
