Guntram Lesch

Guntram Lesch (born November 30, 1899 in Munich , † October 14, 1956 in Karlsruhe ) was a German engineer (electrical engineering).

After receiving his doctorate from TH Munich in 1929, he worked at Brown, Boveri & Cie. , where he researched electrical gas discharges at the high voltage institute. Most recently he was director of the industrial department here.

In addition, he worked in the 400 kV research community. V., whose management he took over from 1950 and whose work forms the basis of today's German 400 kV network.

On January 22, 1949 he was appointed full professor and director of the high voltage institute at the TH Karlsruhe . 1951 to 1954 he was also head of the electrical engineering department and dean of the faculty of mechanical engineering. In 1956 he held the post of rector until his death.
