The Gurkovska Cove (English; Bulgarian залив Гурковска saliw Gurkowska ) is a 3 km wide and 2.5 km long bay on the eastern foothills of Elephant Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located southwest of Cape Valentine and northeast of Walker Point and was exposed by the retreat of the ice masses of The Stadium at the beginning of the 21st century .
British scientists mapped them in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named them in 2016 after Julija Gurkowska, a participant in the 2nd Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition (1993–1994).
