The Walker Point is a headland at the eastern end of Elephant Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 5 km southwest of Cape Valentine .
The name of the cape appears on a map that was created during the joint journey of the US sealer captain Nathaniel Palmer and his British counterpart George Powell (1794-1824) in December 1821 in this area. The namesake is believed to be Captain John Walker, who helped Powell with the creation of the map.
