Gustav-Adolf-Strasse (Weißenfels)

There is a monument area in Gustav-Adolf-Straße in the city of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . The monument area is listed in the local monument register.

General

The street was named after the Swedish king Gustav Adolf II , who was fatally wounded in the battle of Lützen against Catholic troops. After his death he was laid out in the escort house in Weißenfels. There is a memorial stone in Friedrichstrasse to commemorate the King of Sweden .

Monument area

The monument area on Große Burgstraße includes house numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28. Although the House numbers 1, 3, 5, 10, 12, 14 and 16 are part of the monument area, these buildings are once again under monument protection, whereby house numbers 10, 12, 14, 16 are listed as one block together.
