Gustav Altegoer

Gustav Altegoer (born June 19, 1859 in Bochum ; † September 1, 1934 there ) was a German politician ( center ).

Life

Gustav Altegoer did an apprenticeship as a painter after finishing primary school. He attended a further education and technical school, became a master painter and had his own wallpaper, glass and paint shop in Bochum. In addition to his professional activity, he wrote economic articles for the local newspapers and the specialist press. He was a member of the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts and board member of the Westphalia-Lippe Crafts Association.

Altegoer was a city councilor in Bochum from 1906 to 1912 and an honorary member of the magistrate there until 1924. From around 1919 he was second chairman of the Center Party in Bochum-Stadt, and also a member of the Bochum party executive and the party executive of the Province of Westphalia. 1919-1921 Altegoer for the Center Party member who was Constituent Prussian State Assembly and 1921-1933 member of the Prussian Landtag .
