criticism

“… In addition, exciting details, often outrageous like a novel, by no means avoiding tangible colportage, subordinated to the dominant 'tension'. Gaidarow… gives a type of remarkable, slightly exotic beauty and elegance. The lovely Liane Haid came to us as wheat-blonde. Gustave Preiss' photography did the best. He caught the images of the Moroccan landscape in abundance. These recordings are a great pleasure. "

- Österreichische Film-Zeitung, October 15, 1927. p. 16

Paimann's film lists summed up: “The subject and directing are older technology, but the whole thing is still very exciting and effective for the public, especially due to the juxtaposition of European culture and brutality and eroticism from the Orient. The game is satisfactory, some very beautiful oriental pictures are worth mentioning, the photography is very good. "
