Gustave Preiss (born July 2, 1881 in Weinfelden , † January 7, 1963 in Zurich ) was a Swiss cameraman .

Life

The son of the inventor and film pioneer Louis Preiss worked for his father from the start. He filmed and staged a few short documentaries, as they were typical for the early days of cinematography .

During the First World War he moved to Germany , where he became one of the busiest cameramen of the silent film era. Shortly after the emergence of the talkie, he stopped working for the cinema and returned to Switzerland.
