Oreste Bilancia (born September 24, 1881 in Catania , † October 31, 1945 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Live and act

Bilancia's career began in 1902 as a dialect actor with the stage company Galli-Gusti-Ciarli-Bracci, where he acted as the second comedian. His next stop was the Calabresi-Severi group. From 1910 to 1913 he was director of the casino in Sanremo , then from 1914 director of the Kursaal in Montecatini .

At the end of 1914, the Ambrosio production company in Turin hired him as a film actor. The plump, usually wearing a monocle, Bilancia was a busy supporting actor who appeared in numerous important films of the Italian silent film cinema. In 1925 - the cinema crisis raged in Italy - he accepted an offer from Germany and in the years that followed, up to the end of the silent film era, he appeared in numerous German films. He then returned to Italy and took on other roles in Telefoni Bianchi films. He also took advantage of the stage offers, where he offered successful character studies with his round figure, his cheerful and good-hearted character, red hair and elegant appearance.

Bilancia was married to the actress Asta Gundt .
