action

Dorrit Martin grew up in a small village as the foster daughter of the local gendarme. One day she met the Berlin lawyer Hilgers, who offered her professional support should she come to Berlin. Dorrit is happy to accept the offer. Hilgers and his partner Plümow are currently dealing with a tricky case: They are looking for a young woman who could inherit a great deal if she were found. Hilgers saw certain similarities with Dorrit when looking at pictures of the young people who were wanted and contacted her by telegram. Meanwhile, Dorrit tried in vain to gain access to Hilgers' office in Berlin. The Cerberus in front of the entrance makes it clear to her that only very "difficult cases" would have access to the boss' office, and so Dorrit quickly set about constructing a "difficult case". She tries to fake a book theft and in this way meets a cranky professor who is enthusiastic about her and wants to bring her to his home.

But Dorrit only wants to see Hilgers. In the scholar's library she finds a copy of a penal code that devours her. At night she jumps out of the window and finally wants to go to the office when a patrol officer stops her and takes the suspicious "stray" with him to the police station. When the freshly dressed traffic policewomen are sent off to their new job the next morning, Dorrit also mingles with them. She promptly causes great confusion in Berlin traffic. Finally she reached the office and called out to the office manager that Hilgers had to come to the station immediately, because there was a particularly "difficult case" to take over there. In fact, Hilgers appears a little later at the police station and promptly meets Dorrit, who has returned, who can now clear up the whole mess. Hilgers takes them to himself and to them. He explains to his astonished partner that the difficult case of the heiress he is looking for is over: she stands in front of him. Dorrit and Hilgers also fell in love with each other.
