Leopold Ernst Gerhard Freiherr von Ledebur (born May 18, 1876 in Berlin ; † August 22, 1955 at Gut Bockhorn in Ruhwinkel ) was a German actor .

Life

The state actor from the Barons von Ledebur was a trained lawyer and received his first engagement at the Berlin Lustspielhaus in 1906 . Since 1916 he worked in films and in 1918 played the bullfighter Escamillo in his first important role in the opera adaptation Carmen .

For 35 years Ledebur played in supporting roles, predominantly respectful personalities such as ministers, directors, generals, police chiefs, judges, doctors and estate owners, rarely servants, neighbors and colleagues.
