The theater director Stuart and his director Held visit the criminal pub Zum Blökenden Ochsen in search of inspiration for their revue . There they notice the charming Nelly who tries to steal the watch from Stuart. After Nelly tells them about their sad youth, Stuart offers her a small role in his revue to get her back on track.
Nelly is said to be performing with Lady Fox, who causes a sensation with her expensive jewelry with a pink diamond . After Nelly forgets her lines in her first appearance, Lady Fox refuses to continue performing with her. However, it cannot be replaced that quickly and the next performance must appear again.
Nelly's accomplice, Tobian, is arrested and needs 2,000 marks to escape. Nelly tries to raise the money by stealing the pink diamond. But Lady Fox gets her diamond back and Nelly becomes a revue star and gets together with Stuart.

The script follows the comedy "Karriere" by Richard Kessler . The world premiere was on March 8, 1926 in the Mozart Hall in Berlin. The film was shown for the first time in Finland on August 16, 1926. The buildings came from the later architecture professor Egon Eiermann .
