Alice Hechy
Alice Hechy (born July 21, 1893 in Anklam ; † May 26, 1973 in Berlin ) was a German actress and singer ( soprano ).
Life
Her maiden name was Alice Scheel.
She received vocal training from Ludwig Mantler and played her first film role as Alice Scheel-Hechy in 1912. Her most important portrayal in these years was that of the mechanical doll Olympia in Richard Oswald's early cinema adaptation of the opera Hoffmann's Tales in 1916.
Only then did Hechy's stage career in Berlin begin, first at the Lustspielhaus, then at the theater in Kommandantenstrasse, at the Neues Theater am Zoo and at the theater in Behrenstrasse . In the 1920s and early 1930s she starred several times in Herman Haller's revues . Guest performances took her to revues and operettas in Vienna .
From 1925 she only got smaller roles in film. In 1928 she played next to Henny Porten in Carl Froelich's film "Refuge", in 1930 she was next to Paul Morgan , Max Hansen and the tenor Carl Jöken in the cabaret sound film Das Kabinett des Dr. See Larifari .
She sang in song recitals on the radio and performed on cabaret stages. In 1945, after a long period of time, she resumed a permanent engagement at the theater in Kaiserallee, and later, apart from guest appearances, she regularly appeared at the Neue Deutsche Bühne der Jugend.
Alice Hechy made records at the end of the 1920s, sometimes with well-known colleagues such as Paul Morgan and Leo Monosson , at Homocord and Odeon.
