Gustav Hofer (moderator)
Gustav Hofer (born May 9, 1976 in Sarnthein , South Tyrol , Italy ) is a moderator of arte Kultur, journalist and documentary filmmaker.
Life
After studying journalism in Vienna, he studied film for one year in London, where he worked as a freelance journalist for various media ( BBC London, n-tv Berlin, ZDF ). For his diploma thesis, writing and graffiti art , he moved to Rome in 1999 , where he has lived since then.
He has been a freelancer at arte since 2000. He moderates the TV format arte Kultur and, since October 2008, the cultural program Chic! as pregnancy substitute for Valeria Risi . At the same time he made various documentaries, such as Korea Prioritaria (2002), Il Sangue del Impero (2004) and Men for all Seasons (2005).
Together with his partner, the journalist Luca Ragazzi , Hofer is making autobiographical documentaries: Gay Being in Italian (Improvvisamente l'inverno scorso) , a film about life as a homosexual couple in Rome, celebrated its world premiere in 2008 at the 58th Berlinale . In 2011 the documentary road movie Italy followed: Love it, or Leave it and in 2014 What is Left? , in which the two deal with the situation of the Italian left .
