Gustav Klaiber

Gustav Klaiber (born April 19, 1864 in Gundelfingen near Freiburg , † August 17, 1940 there ) was a German businessman, farmer and member of the Baden state parliament .

Life

After attending primary school in Gundelfingen from 1871 to 1879, Klaiber completed a commercial apprenticeship and received private tuition in preparation for the commercial school. From 1883 to 1885 he took part in military service in the 12th Company and the 5th Baden Infantry Regiment 113. In addition to his work in agriculture, Klaiber dealt with trade. In 1893 he moved to Mulhouse in Alsace , where he opened a grocery store. From 1902 to 1914 Klaiber was a member of the Mulhouse City Council and spokesman for the democratic group. After he returned to Gundelfingen in 1918 and devoted himself to agriculture and trade, he became a member of the second chamber of the Baden state parliament from 1921 to 1929. He represented the Landbund from 1921 to 1928 and the Reich Party of German Middle Classes from 1928 to 1929 . He was also involved as a member of the Baden Chamber of Agriculture and as a local councilor in Gundelfingen. In 1936 Klaiber was honored by the Badischer Kriegerbund and the Landwehr and Reservist Association Gundelfingen.
