Lists on the subject

The Gustloff gun was a German handgun at the beginning of the Second World War , but never hinauskam developed the prototype stage.

technology

The pistol was created between 1938 and 1939 on the initiative of Fritz Sauckel . Technically, the weapon was based on the construction of the Sauer 38H . As with this one, there was a lever that was used on the one hand to relax and secure and on the other hand to cock the weapon again. The production should be as efficient as possible. For this purpose, the number of components was reduced to 37 and the housing was manufactured from a zinc alloy in a die-casting process. In 1940 the Army Weapons Office tested it , but the pistol was rejected. Therefore, there was no large-scale production; only about 100 test copies were made.
