The Good Baierdorf bei Graz was a small fortification , located in the former village of Baierdorf bei Graz , which today was to the municipality Eggenberg belongs. history

The fortification was probably built by the founder of the village. It was originally in the possession of the Aribones , who passed it on to the Eppensteiner . These in turn passed it on to the Peilsteiners . It is believed that the Werigant von Payerdorf, mentioned in 1361, and his son Heinrich derived their name from this defense structure. The Peilsteiners sold the estate to the Count of Montfort in 1400 . On May 11, 1435, the Count of Montfort lent the estate to the Windischgrätzer, who also owned Algersdorf Castle . Apparently the estate was handed over to the Gradner by the Windischgrätzern. In 1519 the estate was taken over by Lasla von Ratmannsdorf, Hans von Helfenberg and their siblings and passed on to the Sinzendorfer who were related by marriage. This in turn handed it over to the Prantner von Winterhof. In 1573 Hans Prantner sold the Jakob Zäggl von Friedau estate. Max von Khünberg succeeded this a few years later as the owner. He mentions a moat that surrounded the estate. Polykarp Stürgkh bought the estate in 1579 and expanded it into a noble residence , since according to his father's will he was not allowed to live at Plankenwarth Castle . When he died in 1595, he left a heavily indebted inheritance, which Ruprecht Windischgrätzer attached for a debt of 3,000 guilders . In 1596 the heirs of Stürgkh sold the noble estate and the estate to Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg , who let them fall into disrepair. He used the reasons for his mastery at Algersdorf Castle. The fiefdom of the estate passed from the Counts of Montfort to the sovereign at the end of the 16th century. In the second half of the 17th century, Hans Adam von Liechtenstein was the owner of the "Bayrdorfer Maierhof", which he sold to Johann Weber in 1699. In 1736 Wolf Jakob Fraydenegg von Monzello bought the farm and in 1780 handed it over to Baron Leopold von Dolberg. The "Freihof zu Baierdorf" was sold in 1821 to Johann Carl Harl. In 1828 it was sold to Valentin Pillich at a public auction. In 1830 it was bought by Sophia Schiffkorn. The "Mayerhof zu Baierdorf" came into the possession of Friedrich de Buigni in 1843, who sold it to an "Association for the Establishment of Silk Breeding". This association later sold the farm to the beekeeping association. The last known owner was Rudolf Schosserer, who bought the farm in 1871.
