Gut Ettental

The Good Ettental is a listed estate in Saarland St. Ingbert . It is located in the district of Hassel near the hamlet of Rittersmühle .

history

From 1700 to 1737, a glassworks belonging to the Schorr family was in operation on the site of what is now the Ettental estate . Bottles and glass beads were made there. The barn is still preserved from this time. After the glassworks closed, several working class families stayed there. After this time, the Villeroy family acquired the area and new buildings were built. Felix Villeroy ran agriculture and horse breeding there. After his death in 1882, the estate went to the merchant Georg Ottmann . On October 24, 1906, Vice Admiral Ferdinand Herwarth Schmidt von Schwind acquired with his wife Dorette, née of dung the estate; extensive afforestation was carried out. 1912, the estate of was Glashütterhof in Good Ettental renamed. The current owner is Herwarth Schmidt von Schwind von Hohnhorst .
