Gutenberg is an impact crater on the moon . It is located on the western flank of the Mare Fecunditatis . The closest neighbors are Goclenius , Magelhaens and Colombo craters .

The rim of the crater is heavily eroded, especially in the east, where it is overlaid by the 'Gutenberg E' crater. This crater itself has gaps, creating a connection to the mare.

The floors of Gutenberg and 'Gutenberg E' were flooded by lava from the Mare. The soil of Gutenberg is crossed by two fissures that are part of the Rimae Goclenius .
