Guy Fraunié (born September 12, 1949 in Bordeaux ) is a former French football player .

Career

The 178 centimeter tall defender , who was used both in central defense and on the right side of defense, began playing football in Gradignan near Bordeaux. He was almost 22 years old when he was signed by first division club Girondins Bordeaux in 1971 . After a year in the second team, he moved up to the professional team in 1972. The player, who wore the shirt number two throughout his career, was initially intended as a supplementary player and did not get beyond occasional missions.

Under coach André Menaut , who was signed up in 1974, he received trust on the right-wing defense side from 1975, with which he came on regularly, even if he was not one of the undisputed performers. Coach Christian Montes demoted him to the post of substitute player in 1977, when he could hardly appear for the professionals. Because his contract expired in 1978 in this situation, it was not renewed and Fraunié had to turn her back on Bordeaux after seven years. In view of the fact that no other first or second division club wanted to accept him, the then 28-year-old had to end his career with two goals after 77 first division games; He had never been able to book a title win or a call to the national team.
