György Orbán
György Orbán (born July 12, 1947 in Târgu Mureș , Romania ) is a Hungarian composer born in Transylvania .
Life
Orbán studied and later taught at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca . In 1979 he emigrated from Romania to Hungary. Since 1982 he has been Professor of Composition at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest . His choral compositions mix traditional liturgical Renaissance and Baroque counterpoint with elements of jazz .
