György Széll (sociologist)

György Széll (also: György Szell , born April 13, 1941 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian-German sociologist .

Initially research assistant at the social research center at the University of Münster in Dortmund, he was called to a professorship for sociology at the University of Osnabrück . There he was also retired (after 2000).

Széll's main areas of work were the sociology of developing countries , educational and work sociology, where he presented and edited numerous publications. For many years he worked in honorary positions at the International Sociological Association .
