Gyldén is an impact crater on the front of the moon south of the Sinus Medii , northeast of Ptolemaeus and east of Herschel . The crater is badly eroded. In the west the wall is covered by a wide furrow.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Swedish astronomer Hugo Gyldén .
