Gyula Racz

Gyula Racz (born 1942 ) is a musician, drummer and music teacher of Hungarian origin who lives in Germany. He studied "Music Education / Concert Education" and received his doctorate in 2015 from the University of Augsburg. His places of activity include Würzburg and Stuttgart. He arranged pieces by many classical composers for mallet instruments ( vibraphone , marimba , xylophone and glockenspiel ), including the Fluyten-Lusthof by the composer Jacob van Eyck (around 1590–1657) and Pétrouchka by Igor Stravinsky (for 2 pianos and percussion). The compendium he published, The Great Book of Drumming Practice, is considered a standard work.
