Héric de Beaujeu

Héric de Beaujeu († 1270 before Tunis ) was a marshal of France in the 13th century.

He came from the House of Beaujeu and was a younger son of Sire Guichard II of Montpensier. His older brother Humbert II of Montpensier was Connétable of France , while his younger brother Guillaume de Beaujeu rose to become Grand Master of the Templar Order .

He was Herr von Herment and married Arengarde, daughter of Vice Count Guillaumes II d'Aubusson.

Héric was probably born around 1265 together with Renaud de Précigny by King Louis IX. appointed Marshal after the death of Henri II Clément . In 1270 he took part in the crusade to Tunis , where he died in the camp during the dysentery epidemic. His colleague Renaud de Précigny also died on this crusade in the fight against the Saracens.
