Hotel Cornuel in Paris (2012)

The Hôtel Cornuel (also known as the Hôtel de Tourolle ) in Paris , the French capital, is a Hôtel particulier in the 3rd arrondissement . In 1980 the city palace on rue Charlot no. 7 was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique .

The house was built in 1615/16 for Charles Margonne ("sécretaire du roi et commissaire ordinaire des guerres"), who sold it in 1634 to Claude Cornuel ("intendant des finances"). In the 18th century, the Hôtel Cornuel belonged to the Le Pilleur de Brévannes family.

The Hôtel particulier corresponds to the building structure of its time, with a corps de logis and two side wings that end on the street with corner pavilions. Behind the central wing was the garden, which had two small pavilions . In the 19th century, the entire structure was increased by two storeys. In contrast to the original stone building , simple materials were used for the addition.

In the 1970s, the entrance to the Corps de logis was heavily changed during renovation work and an elevator was installed. During these construction measures, the painted wooden ceilings from the time it was built were rediscovered and restored.

The arched portal that leads into the courtyard is framed by boss stones .
