The so-called Hünenburg is an abandoned hill fort at about 150 meters above sea level on the Paterberg in the Valdorf-West district of the East Westphalian town of Vlotho in the Herford district in North Rhine-Westphalia . There are no more visible traces of the complex today.

The field name "Hünenburg", which has been handed down for centuries for a plateau-like area on the western Paterberg, indicates the former existence of the weir system to this day. In 1825, the historian Leopold von Ledebur was still able to report on the remains of a hill fort. Accordingly, the system consisted of a wall with an outer ditch and had a circumference of 400 paces, which today corresponds to about 300 meters. In the decades that followed, the remains of these ramparts and ditches were completely removed through agricultural use of the site. A test excavation in 1995 made it possible to prove the existence of the Hünenburg, which was previously only known from written records, archaeologically. The function and age of the facility could not yet be clearly clarified due to the small-scale excavation.
