Hürbel is a former municipality in the Biberach district . Today Hürbel belongs to the Gutenzell-Hürbel community .
history
Hürbel was first mentioned in a document on January 4, 1083, when a nobleman from Hurwilin witnessed a donation. In 1237 Hürbel fell to Ulrich von Freyberg , whose descendant Heinrich von Freyberg built Hürbel Castle in 1521, which became their ancestral seat.
The place itself came under Württemberg sovereignty in 1806 , the castle was sold in 1816 to Count Reuttner von Weyl , who lived in Achstetten . In 1840 the Württemberg state acquired the property, which in 1843 sold it to the Barons von Welden . From 1907 to 1981 the castle belonged to Bonlanden Abbey .
In 1826 Hürbel became an independent parish again. Since at least 1396 there was a church in Hürbel, which had belonged to the Reinstetten parish since 1407 .
When the community was reformed on January 1, 1975, Hürbel was merged with Gutenzell to form Gutenzell-Hürbel.
