The Hüttengrund Viaduct is a railway bridge in the area of the town of Hohenstein-Ernstthal in southwest Saxony.
history
The Hüttengrund viaduct is part of the Dresden – Werdau railway line , the Chemnitz – Zwickau section of which was put into operation on November 15, 1858 as part of the Riesa – Chemnitz – Zwickau state railway .
The railway bridge was partially renewed in connection with the route renovation between Hohenstein-Ernstthal and St. Egidien on behalf of DB ProjektBau GmbH in the period from 2009 to 2011.
Technical specifications
The Hüttengrund Viaduct has a total length of 120.00 m and a construction height of 1.15 m in the arches and the construction width is 11.20 m. The spans of the arches are between 5.5 m and 14 m. The viaduct consists of a row of vaults in sandstone ashlar masonry with five main openings and two closed spar vaults in each of the abutment areas.
