Hut chapel

The Thale Hüttenkapelle is a listed building in Thale in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt . Today it is used as the museum gallery of the neighboring Thale Hüttenmuseum .

location

The chapel is located immediately west of the museum entrance on the north side of Walter-Rathenau-Strasse, at Walther-Rathenau-Strasse 1 . In some cases, Parkstrasse 1 is also given as the address .

Architecture and history

Immediately on the street is a small, simple building with an inscription dated 1856, which was probably built as a hut chapel. The single-storey building with a rectangular floor plan, made of stone, was built in a round arch style . The arched windows are framed by bricks. The gables of the building are decorated with mask medallions.

The chapel is listed as a church in the local monument register under registration number 094 45303.
