The Hüttstatthöhle is located between Widderkarkogel and Hinterem Bruderkogel in the western Totes Gebirge in Styria in Austria .
The Hüttstatthöhle was discovered in 1921 by Othmar Schauberger and Willi Lang. In 1922 the cave was then driven to the chasm of the Friendship Cathedral, the 42 m deep shaft was overcome in 1936. From 1978 to 1994 the Hüttstatthöhle was measured by the Schwäbisch Gmünd cave working group in cooperation with the Nürtingen cave research group up to a total length of 9175 m with a vertical extension of 245 m.
