HAC North Star

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HAC-Nordstern was an Austrian football club from the Hietzing district of Vienna , which played in the second league from 1935 to 1937 at its most successful.

history

The history of the club goes back to the Hietzinger AC , who entered the Austrian championship in 1912/13 and started playing in the lowest level at that time, the fourth class II class C, West . In 1920 there was a merger with the small club Nordstern 1912 , from which the later name "HAC-Nordstern" is explained. Although the club played an insignificant role for a long time, in 1925, for example, it still played in the lowest, now sixth class, league, HAC-Nordstern recently produced its most famous footballer with the later wonder team player Karl Gall .

However, the long time in the lowest Austrian level was followed by a rapid rise, which culminated with winning the B group in the amateur class and the associated promotion to the second class II league. For a total of three seasons, from 1934/35 to 1936/37 , HAC-Nordstern played in the second tier before relegation was missed. A merger with the company team of the Standard Schuhfabrik under the direction of Hans Mieses ensured that the company was temporarily renamed SC Standard Wien . During the Second World War the club came to an end and the site is still used by ASV 13 today.
