The HC Prešov is a Slovak ice hockey team from Prešov , which was founded in 1928 and in the second-rate by 2019 first league played. The club played its home games in the ICE Aréna , which holds 6,000 spectators.

Zimný štadiónPrešov (2011)

HC 07 Prešov was founded in 1928 under the name Snaha Prešov . Numerous name changes followed before the current name was chosen in 2007. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and the division into the independent states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia , HC 07 Prešov was one of ten founding members of the Extraliga in the 1993/94 season . In the third year of their membership in the Extraliga, the team rose in the 1995/96 season to the second-rate first division , but was able to celebrate the rise in 1998. Due to the reduction in the number of participants from twelve to eight in the extra league and his eleventh place in the main round, HC Prešov had to compete in the 1998/99 season in the qualifying round, in which he finished seventh and consequently relegated to the first division.

Until 2019, the club belonged to the second division. Problems with the statics of the ice rink roof were already discovered at the end of the 2017/18 season. Therefore, the club played in Zvolen in the 2018/19 season with the support of HKm Zvolen , but was relegated at the end of the season. Due to the persistent unplayability of the ice rink, the club canceled all teams for the 2019/20 season.
