The HK Bardejov is a Slovak ice hockey team from Bardejov , which was founded in 2016 and currently in the third-rate second league plays. The club plays its home games in Zimný Štadión Bardejov , which holds 2,800 spectators.

history

HC 46 Bardejov was founded in 1946 under the name Sokol Bardejov . Other names of the team, which always played under-class in the times of Czechoslovakia , were Slavoj Bardejov , Partizán Bardejov , and TJ Stavstroj TaRS Bardejov , before the current name was chosen in 1992. From 1983 to 1993 Bardejov appeared in the third Czechoslovak ice hockey league. After the dissolution of the state and the division into the independent states of the Czech Republic and Slovakia , HC 46 Bardejov was accepted into the third-class 2nd division , in which he played exclusively, before he was promoted to the second-class 1st division as champions in the 2006/07 season League reached. In their first two seasons in professional ice hockey, the teams Bardejovs finished eleventh and eighth respectively.

The association acts as the farm team of HC Košice . In the 2011/12 season the men's team of the club reached the championship of the first division, but was not allowed to move up to the extra league due to the cooperation with HC Košice .

In 2016 the HC 46 was dissolved and replaced by the successor club HK Bardejov.
