HDMR slot

H igh D efinition M ultimedia R iser (HDMR) is an expansion slot in a computer for plug-in cards with multimedia functions such as audio, video or communication. HDMR is therefore comparable to the older audio modem riser slot.

Possible functions for HDMR expansion cards are, for example, use as a sound card , modem , network card or interface card. The slot can mainly be found on mainboards of the reduced µATX design from 2006 onwards. The spread of suitable cards is currently limited to integrated modems in inexpensive complete computers.
