The heeresfeldbahn locomotives HK 1-10 were triaxial hot steam - tank locomotives from Henschel , for the heeresfeldbahn in 1000 mm gauge were built.

It is not clear whether they were also used on the Heeresfeldbahn or whether they remained in the manufacturing plant. Their proven area of operation was private railways such as the Euskirchener Kreisbahnen , the Cologne-Bonn Railways and the Ruhr-Lippe Railways , where the machines were used from 1919 to 1960 and then decommissioned and scrapped.

history

The locomotives were designed and built for the Prussian army field railways . It is not clear whether they were delivered to France in 1917 or remained in the manufacturing plant until after the World War. The railway replacement park in Berlin-Schöneberg was entitled to dispose of the vehicles .

They were used after the First World War on various railways of the West German Railway Company (WeEG) . The machines belonged to the Henschel type bogal and were valued means of transport because of their efficiency and easy cornering.

Euskirchener Kreisbahnen

The locomotives HK 1 , HK 6 and HK 7 were used on the Euskirchener Kreisbahnen , they were designated as 18c to 20c . When the circular orbits with the EKB V 21 – V 24 obtained a possible replacement from 1954, they were not taken out of service until 1959/1960.

Cologne-Bonn Railways

Six locomotives (HK 2-4; 8-10) were given to the Cologne-Bonn Railways , where they were used on the narrow-gauge foothills railway . They were the first vehicles on this line that were not box locomotives . In terms of performance, they were superior to all other vehicles used. They were named KBE 22-25 and KBE 36-37 . Some locomotives were decommissioned until the foothills of the foothills were changed .

Ruhr-Lippe Railways

After the Vorgebirgsbahn had been re-tracked, two locomotives (HK 3; HK 8) came to the Ruhr-Lippe-Eisenbahnen in 1935 , where they were given the designation RLE 8 and RLE 9 . They were in use until 1954 when they were retired and scrapped.

The whereabouts of the missing HK 5 locomotive has not been clarified.

technology

Despite their three axles, the superheated steam locomotives could be used on routes that were otherwise traveled by two-axle box locomotives , because the middle axle had a weakened flange .
